Spring Brides Prepare to Walk Down the Aisle

February 23, 2011

I’ve been absent from my blog for almost a month and thought I’d catch you up on what I’ve been doing.

The Millinerium Atelier

In preparation for a bridal show at the elegant and historic Stoneleigh Hotel last Sunday, I spent the majority of my time over a three-week period actually creating in my studio (hallelujah!), brainstorming and then crafting a slew of new bridal headpieces.  I was thrilled with the results and will share pics with you at the bottom.  I must say that making time to work uninterrupted in the studio on a more regular basis was really wonderful.  I was able to get into a groove and the creative juices really started flowing once I ignored the administrative duties of my business and focused on creating.  Of course, that meant that my admin duties began to pile up and I’m still working on the backlog – plus cleaning up the wreck that became my studio.  But it was worth it and I plan to try to find more balance between studio time and other business duties.  (There never really is enough studio time!)

A big thank you to the organizers of the Misha Nikole Photography Open House, Misha Wynn of Misha Nikole Photography and Ashli Weslyn Hall of Pink Sugar Soirées, for their invitation to participate and their hard work organizing the show.

I have many more designs in mind, I just have to make time to create them and get them photographed and listed!  I think traditional white and ivory are gorgeous for weddings, but I must say I’m really looking forward to bringing more color into my bridal designs.  I’ve got a bunch of supplies just waiting for me to craft them into Bridal Confections!

I hope you like these and welcome your feedback.  🙂
